Fellowship of the Dragon (FOTD)...
The Fellowship, offspring of a cross-fertilisation between Enochian Magic and Traditional Witchcraft, is an independent UK-based neo-Druidic Order with a pronounced Goddess orientation.
The foremost work of, and participation in, the Fellowship does not consist in overtly "occult", "pagan", or "magical" activities; nor necessarily in the wearing of supposedly "mystical" symbols and trinkets; nor in crass displays of "psychicness" or allusions to the possession of mysterious "powers".
Neither do we make dubious claims to alleged connections with the "Illuminati", the "Knights Templar" or whatever. Or indulge in the rather distasteful practise of assuming Celtic-sounding names and pretending we're anything other than what we actually are.
Participants in the Fellowship pursue "normal" activities in the
real, everyday world.
Rather it is the rejection of certain activities, the choice
of others, and the manner in which they are pursued, that are
coloured by the overarching spirit of that which informs the Fellowship
- this it is that defines us as participants in the Fellowship.
The "Discoveries" or "Realisations" are essays that sketch out, in simplified form, some of the principal ideas and concepts (which, in turn, are either based upon or expand the Visions) that underpin the present work and activities of the Fellowship.
Central to the Fellowship's "world view" is the reality embodied by the concept of the Holy Grail which has led to our being heavily influenced by the Arthurian Mythos, by notions of Knighthood, and of Chivalry.
The more "formal" (i.e., ritualised) practises of the Fellowship are constructed around a collection of Texts, though their use and indeed such activity was more prevalent in the early days of the Fellowship than has latterly been the case. That is to say, they represent the path by which the Fellowship has come to its present position.
And finally, the birth of the Fellowship occurred in the particular
context of certain research then being undertaken by some of those
who were subsequently to be numbered amongst the Fellowship's
founders.
The product of that research was distilled into a very few "key
quotes", the understanding of which providing a better appreciation
of the rationalè behind the Fellowship.
Important note... In the early days of the Fellowship's web presence we were engaged on an "internet learning curve", discovering not only how the web itself worked, but also how best to adapt its features to our own requirements, and how then (in terms of both strategy and technology) to implement that adaptation. Well, things have developed considerably since those early days. Neverthless, some remnants of our experimentation and learning may still be found in remote corners of the web, in the form of non-functioning websites, broken links etc. We've tried to clear up the detritus as best we can but inevitably some things will have been missed. Be aware then that currently (as of October 2006) this present site (kindly hosted for us by, and a subdomain of, Druinet.org) is the only official website of the Fellowship. Other sites and elements of the former "Fellowship network" that may be encountered on various freebie hosting services are no longer supported and provide no access to the Fellowship in "terraspace". |
