The Uffington Horse

The Uffington White Horse dates back to the Bronze Age, and is held by many (including myself) to be an image of the shape-shifting Horse Goddess Epona.

The eye of the Uffington Horse has long been called "The Eye of Epona", and local folklore has it as traditional for couples to stand upon the eye to get handfasted — although I should point out that its currently forbidden to stand upon the chalk figure itself!!
